What is HMR Medium Density Fibreboard?
HMR stands for Humidity Resistant Medium Density Fibreboard, also known as moisture-proof MDF with green core colour marker. It is formulated with special water-repellent resin during fibre blending, greatly reducing thickness swelling rate when exposed to intermittent humid conditions. It is the upgraded MDF solution for indoor wet zones where standard raw MDF will swell, warp or degrade quickly.

Typical Applications
HMR medium density fibreboard is the preferred substrate for kitchen cabinet components, bathroom vanity units, laundry room cabinetry, window sills, wall cladding in humid coastal buildings, swimming pool auxiliary interior decoration and wet-area shop fitting. It is not fully waterproof for continuous outdoor immersion.

FAQ
Q: Is HMR MDF waterproof MDF?
A: HMR medium density fibreboard is moisture resistant, not fully waterproof. Long-term soaking is not recommended. For fully submerged scenarios, select other panel materials.
Q: Can I paint HMR MDF same as regular MDF?
A: Yes, the surface accepts paint, primer and veneer normally. We still recommend sealing edges for better humidity protection.
Q: Do you supply HMR MDF in melamine finish?
A: Yes, we provide both raw green core HMR MDF and pre-melamine laminated moisture resistant MDF.We also supply melamine faced MDF with various decorative wood grain and solid color finishes for ready-to-use cabinet and furniture production.
